Flying B Ranch (about mile 66.5, river left) began as an early-1900s homestead used for cattle, hay, and orchard farming in the remote canyon. After mid-century ownership changes that mixed farming with guest-ranch experiments, a group of outdoor enthusiasts bought the property in 1961 and formed Flying Resort Ranches, which still operates it as a private member ranch with airstrip. Float parties often note a small store/ice cream stop at the riverside complex.
