Hood Ranch Camp on river left near mile 36 is signaled by the remains of an old frontier cabin; American Whitewater and RiverBrain describe the cabin ruins as still explorable, with a hot spring at the downstream end of camp. The site fits the broader pattern of early-20th-century subsistence homesteads on irrigated alluvial fans between Pistol Creek and Flying B.
