Indian Creek (~mile 25.6) is the standard alternate put-in when Boundary Creek is too low, with a USFS guard station, public airstrip (FAA S81), and multi-group camp. The riverside bar was occupied by the Watson family around 1914; the Forest Service surveyed an administrative site in 1935, approved a plat in 1936, and built/extended the airstrip soon after (further lengthened in 1952–53). It remains a key patrol, fire, and public-access hub on the Middle Fork.
