Middle Fork Lodge is a private riverside lodge near mile 34.5, reached by the lodge bridge and nearby airstrip. Casino operator Bill Harrah purchased the former ranch in 1966 after the Forest Service did not exercise a purchase option, then spent heavily converting it into a guest lodge that hosted well-known entertainers. The property changed hands after Harrah’s death and remains a private lodge within the river corridor.
