Sunflower Hot Springs on river right near mile 33.7 emerge from bedrock about 30 feet above the river at roughly 149°F (65°C), feeding rock pools and a cascading “hot shower” that cools toward ~102°F. Wikipedia and USFS context note the Middle Fork area was used by Shoshone and Nez Perce peoples before trappers, miners, and homesteaders. It is among the most photographed and visited thermal features on the float; a small camp sits on the terrace just downstream.
